Hi, I'm Cody
The Person Behind OakPoint Bookkeeping
I’ve always been someone who enjoys the little details—numbers that balance, lists that get checked off, and bringing organization to something that once felt a little chaotic. I’m naturally detail-oriented, dependable, and probably a little more excited about a well-organized spreadsheet than most people.
Before starting OakPoint, I gained firsthand experience working behind the scenes in the pest control industry. I’ve held roles in customer service, team leadership, route coordination, retention, and office management, giving me experience across several different parts of the business.
As an Office Manager, my role went beyond day-to-day operations. I managed teams while also being involved in conversations about the company’s growth and direction, treatment contracts, commission structures, and other operational decisions. Combined with my experience coordinating technicians and routes, working with customers, and reservice troubleshooting, those roles gave me experience across both the management and day-to-day operational sides of the business.
Outside of work, the people in my life are what matter most to me. I spend most of my free time with my partner, family, friends, and my dog, and a lot of what motivates me is building a future with the people I care about. That’s also shaped the way I think about work—I believe a successful business should give you more opportunity to enjoy your life, not constantly take you away from it.

Why I Started OakPoint
Along with enjoying numbers, lists, and keeping things organized, I’ve also always found a lot of fulfillment in helping people. When I started thinking about building a business of my own, I wanted to find a way to bring those two things together.
After quite a bit of brainstorming and research into starting my own business, I quickly realized just how much goes into running one. That got me thinking about how I could use my strengths to make life a little easier for other business owners. So, I started asking ones I already knew a simple question: “What’s something in your business that would make your life easier if someone took it off your plate?”
Bookkeeping kept coming up. I heard about the stress of trying to get to the books after an already long week, how easily they could get pushed aside, and the frustration that came when everything started piling up. I also heard from business owners who had already handed off their bookkeeping but were still left wondering where things stood, waiting on answers, or questioning whether their books were being handled the way they should be.
That’s what led me to OakPoint. I realized bookkeeping could be more than keeping financial records organized. It could be a way to give business owners back some of their time, remove a source of stress, and give them confidence that an important part of their business is being taken care of.
My hope is to grow OakPoint into a name business owners know and trust—one built around giving them back valuable time, providing the communication and dependability they should expect from their bookkeeper, and giving them confidence that their books are being taken care of.
At the end of the day, I want OakPoint to make running a business a little easier and give business owners one less thing competing for their time and attention.
Bookkeeping is simply the way I get to do that.
